WOMEN'S HISTORY
ROUNDTABLE SERIES

Women's history is a key component of the Prajnya Resource Centre's research agenda and we have launched a series of roundtable presentations of women's history-related research.

Our objective is two-fold: first, to promote our own learning about research, ideas and methods relating to women's contribution to public life, and second, to create a space for a community of those interested in this topic.

In June 2011, we revived the series after a hiatus. Our first speaker was Dr. Kalpana Karunakaran, who teaches at IIT Madras. She spoke on "The Self-Help Groups Experience: Reflections on empowerment and on a personal journey."

The new series is held at Knowledge House, one of the training centres run by Launchpad Ventures. They have very kindly offered us the use of the space for our meetings. We are very, very grateful because this enables us to revive a cherished programme whose suspension was largely a function of the loss of our old meeting-place.

Photographs and reports are posted at The PSW Weblog.
